In 1992 I began selling Ice Cream for Paolo's in Heaton Park, Manchester at weekends and sometimes after school.  After I finished school, I stayed with Paolo up until I was in my early 20's, it was at this point I parted with Ice Cream for a few years to train to be a Paramedic (a bit of a change I know).

Throughout my career as a Paramedic, I did return to work with Paolo on occasion selling Ice Cream in the Summer.  I never did believe him when he told me that "once an Ice Cream man, always an Ice Cream man", this came to fruition in March 2021 following a deeply difficult time, both emotionally and physically as a Paramedic throughout the Pandemic, when I started our Ice & Dec journey.  We bought our first van and trailer and started making our round and enjoyed every single minute.

In April, I was contacted by Paolo who gave me an opportunity I simply could not pass on.  When I was 14, Paolo built a brand-new Ford Transit Ice Cream van from Whitby Morrison, I worked most of my childhood years on this van.  Paolo had made the decision that this van was going to be sold but under one condition, it was to be sold to only me.   Following a very emotional phone call I collected the van and it is now my pride and joy, however van still does and always will boast "Paolo" as a thank you to this incredible man.

So why Ice and Dec?  Well, I have a Step Son (more of a Bonus Son) who is my world and loves Ant and Dec.  Yes, you guessed it, his name is Declan, so when it came to naming the company it was a no-brainer.
